Rebekah Sharpton is a versatile singing talent based in Aurora, Colorado. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Arizona. She began singing in church as a child, starting a worship band as a teen with her twin sister, Michelle. She has a soaring, bright, agile opera voice. Her contemporary style is soulful, sultry and powerful. Her She is also accomplished in singing jazz music and has an affinity for the Dixieland style.
Rebekah is well accomplished - she began by winning 1 st place in the National Association of Teachers of Singers (NATS) competition in 2012. The year prior, she won 2 nd place. During her studies as a voice performance major at the University of Arizona School of Music, she was chosen to sing as a soloist in front of the University chorus, the Symphonic Choir, the Arizona Jazz band, and the Olive Street Stompers, a Dixieland Jazz combo. She studied with Soprano superstar Faye Robinson, and nationally renowned jazz pianist/conductor, Jeff Haskell at the University of Arizona. Rebekah’s biggest accomplishment was her acceptance into the Crittenden Opera Program in Bethesda, MD in 2012 where she played the roles of Mrs. Ford (the Merry Wives of Windsor) and Gretel (Hansel and Gretel). Professionally, Rebekah directed the teen choir at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, the children’s choir and adult choirs at Our Lady Queen of All Saints in Tucson, Arizona. She also served as a professional cantor at St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish in Oceanside, California.
Rebekah is now a full member of The National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) which allows her to continue learning vocal pedagogy. Her true passion is in teaching young people voice lessons. She is now accepting new students in the Denver Metro area and online through Skype lessons. She also provides stunning music for weddings, funerals and social events.
